STC HVAC/R-1 Program


Program Content:

The Air Conditioning, Refrigeration and Heating Technology I program provides classroom and lab experiences that enable the student to become proficient in the installation, repair, and maintenance of residential and commercial air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating systems. With the knowledge, training, and tools received, students will be well prepared to pass the Environmental Protection Agency certification test and begin their career.

Program Length:

The Air Conditioning, Refrigeration & Heating Technology I program takes approximately 7 months (750 hours) to complete. Classes meet Monday through Friday from 7:45am–2:15pm.

  • HVAC Excellence Employment Ready–Heat Pump
  • HVAC Excellence Employment Ready–Air Conditioning
  • HVAC Excellence Employment Ready–Electrical
  • NCCER HVAC Level 1
  • NCCER HVAC Level 2
  • NCCER HVAC Level 3

Obtainment Time Frame: In program

Additional Certifications Obtained:

  • OSHA 10 hour
  • CPR and First Aid

Entrance/Exit Requirements:

Reading, math, and language competencies are pre-assessed. The basic skills grade levels for this program are Reading-9, Math-10, and Language-9. Competencies must be met prior to program completion.
